Dallas –
Initial demolition work is underway as crews work to repair a damaged portion of the State Highway 322 overpass.
Today and over the next couple of days, crews will complete dirt “pads” to cushion heavy equipment, finish building support towers and finalize construction of lifting equipment which will be used to remove the affected section of the bridge. It is anticipated that backhoes will begin breaking apart and pulling down concrete over the next few days, given no unexpected schedule impacts.
Demolition work will be methodical, with contractors working extended hours over several days to complete this part of the project as timely and as safely as possible. Following demolition, Luminant will work with TXDOT as they assess the bridge and its needed repairs. Immediately thereafter, crews will begin reconstructing the overpass. A projected completion date will not be available until all post-demolition assessments have been completed.
Luminant’s first priority is safely expediting repairs to minimize impacts to area residents. We appreciate our neighbors’ patience as we work to safely reopen this section of SH 322.
