DALLAS –
The Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Company is encouraged by the recent House of Representatives vote to add $7 billion in nuclear loan guarantee authorization for new nuclear plants. A 38% increase in loan authorization authority is good news for U.S. initiatives to develop and build new nuclear power plants. Right now, we are focused on the license application process for the new units that will take several more years. This new proposed increase makes us optimistic that sufficient authorization will continue to be increased as it is needed.
The proposed expansion of Comanche Peak would be the largest private economic development program in Texas history – adding thousands of jobs and providing safe, clean, dependable energy for the future. For additional information about the project, please visit http://www.expandcomanchepeak.com/.
